Brittney O'Daniel has called Belize home for more than fourteen years and co-founded Hope Haven Children's Home in San Pedro in 2018. As President of the Belize board, she works alongside the board and the home's staff to provide a safe, stable place for children in residential care. Brittney runs the Sandbar, a beachfront hotel and restaurant in San Pedro, since 2012, and her years building a business and putting down roots on Ambergris Caye have given her a close connection to the community Hope Haven serves. An avid diver, she spends much of her free time cave and technical diving in Belize's waters, and she remains involved in the daily life of the home and the wider island community. ‎

Marisa Guerrero has lived in San Pedro since 2002 and joined the Hope Haven board in 2023. She spent years working in operations and management in the tourism sector, and she brings that same organization and drive to everything she takes on, whether it's running her household or supporting the children at Hope Haven. She holds a diploma in social work, which gives her a thoughtful grounding for the home's mission, and she stays active with running and working out to keep balanced. What stands out most about Marisa is how deeply she cares. She is warm, patient, and generous with her time, and she shows up for the people around her with real heart. Her long roots in San Pedro and her steady, caring presence make her a valued member of the board.

Sherri Hansen brings a background in planning, organizing, and coaching to her work with Hope Haven. After falling in love with the people of Ambergris Caye, she bought a home on the island in 2018 and moved to San Pedro full time in 2022. She lives there with her husband Mark and their rescue pets, Molly Dog and Sweetie Pie Cat. Sherri joined the board in 2026 after she began working with the older Hope Haven girls on independent living skills and helping raise funds for the renovations needed for Lydia's Place, an independent living home for children aging out of Hope Haven's care. Her steady guidance and genuine investment in these young women make her a wonderful addition to the board.
