Belize’s first COVID-19 case was confirmed on March 23rd 2020 in San Pedro Town. Immediately after, our community, San Pedro Town, was placed under a 72-hour emergency lock down. Hope Haven and all its volunteers sprang into action and began compiling grocery bags for the 50 Families we serve through our various community service programs. However, as more businesses began to shut down, it became evident that more families were in dire need of food supplies to sustain themselves during the lock down. Our food distribution efforts increased exponentially since then as we have provided food supplies to 2542 families equaling to 5079 people on the island. With the continuing impact of the coronavirus being felt across Belize and within our own community, people are relying more heavily on food banks to make ends meet. We remain committed to helping meet the tremendous needs within our communities, including those who struggle to put food on their tables for their families during this crisis. We rely exclusively on the monetary donations that we receive via PayPal or through our 501C3.
